Chief Executive Officer At RedR India

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leads the organisation and the staff members in achieving the organisation’s vision and mission in the humanitarian and disaster risk reduction sectors. The incumbent’s role spans the functions of Governance, Operations and Finance Management, Programme Delivery and Leadership and Partnerships and Representation.

Governance and Statutory Function –

The CEO works under the oversight of the Managing Committee Members. The Management Committee delegates responsibility for management and day-to-day operations to the CEO, and s/he has the authority to carry out these responsibilities, in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Management Committee. S/he provides direction and enables the Management as it carries out its governance functions and statutory compliances.

Operations and Finance Management –

The CEO of the organization is responsible for the overall management and direction of the organization in accordance with its vision and mission. In this capacity the incumbent is responsible for implementation of policies set by the Managing Committee Members as well as annual goals and objectives, and financial, program, and administrative management of the organization. Guidance and direction is provided by the Chair of the Managing Committee, and its Managing Committee.

Programme Delivery and Leadership –

S/he is responsible for establishing and executing major goals and objectives for the organization. S/he provides leadership, direction and guidance to organization’s activities, analyses and evaluates the effectiveness of all organizational operations, develops and maintains organizational structure and effective personnel, coordinates major activities through subordinates and appraises assigned personnel and represents the organization to regulatory bodies, clients, other agencies, community and civic organizations, donors and supporters, and the general public.

Partnerships and Representation –

The CEO, in partnership with the Management, is responsible for the success of the organization. Together, the Management and CEO assure the organization’s relevance to the sector, the

accomplishment of the organization’s mission and vision, and the accountability of the organization

to its diverse constituents. The CEO works with the Management (and Managing Committees) to establish vision, policies, strategic focus, priorities, and general scope of programs the organization will deliver.
