The internship at Programme Partnerships and Grants at War Child’s Office in Amsterdam offers you a great and inspiring opportunity to learn more about (institutional) fundraising, the humanitarian aid sector and War Child’s mission to invest in a peaceful future for children affected by armed conflict.**

We follow the COVID-19 regulations of the government, which means that we work from home as much as possible. During your internship you will therefore work mostly from home, at least at the beginning stage of your internship.
The intern will support the team with a wide variety of tasks related to communication, institutional fundraising, account management and quality assurance:
· Support in implementing the Programme Partnership and Grants communication plan in collaboration with our Communications and Advocacy department
- Develop, design, write and edit communication materials, including newsletters, webinar invitations and other communication content
- Support in design and editing grant proposals, donor reports, training materials, etc.
- Investigation of institutional donors and funding opportunities through intensive online research
- Screening and analyses of institutional donors and foundations opportunities
- Administration of all team donor management contacts (CRM) in War Child database
- Support in preparation of institutional networking events
- Support in administrative and filing tasks
- Other support activities to the team.
Required Skills and Experience
- You are enrolled in a Dutch higher education institute (HBO/university) for the duration of the internship
- You are a final year Bachelor or Master student in a relevant field of study such as Communication, International Relations or International Development
- Demonstrable interest and/or knowledge of the development sector through prior work/volunteer/study experience is a plus
- Good analytical, research and writing skills
- Good communicative skills – the ability to retrieve relevant information about funding possibilities with different organizations in different countries
- Accurate, precise and eye for detail
- Good sense of priorities and time management
- Quick understanding of different computer software and filing systems
- Self-motivated independent worker with the ability to follow direction and effectively learn
- Good team working skills
- Excellent command of Dutch and English language, both spoken and written
- Available 4-5 days per week, for min 5-6 months, starting in May 2021
- EU national or eligible to work in EU.
This internship is for a period of minimum 5-6 months for 4-5 days per week, as of May 2021. Start at a later date can be discussed. As per War Child Intern Policy, fee will be €200 gross per month (based on 5 days).
Please note that an intern at War Child needs to be a registered student at a Dutch educational institution.
