The overall objective of the assignment is to support the engagement with vulnerable workers and their employers through increasing project visibility and effectively reach stakeholders with results and information on the project achievements. This assignment will support the strategic communication of the project and coordination among ILO, SSC, and target audience to showcase the project impact on the ground.


The consultant will be responsible to research, produce and disseminate communication content intended for different target groups, including donors, national and international media, policy makers and beneficiaries, etc.

Planning project communications

  • Develop, coordinate, and update a work plan and events calendar for the communication and visibility of the project, including the development of branding guidelines.
  • Liaise with project teams, partners, and other stakeholders to develop the plan.

Coordination and production of human-interest stories

  • Be responsible for identifying, collecting, editing, and producing human interest stories, including feature stories and success stories of the project.
  • Work with ILO programme team and SSC to proactively identify and document powerful stories of project beneficiaries that can be used for donor reporting, media, fundraising and advocacy of the project.
  • Carry out face-to-face and/or online interviews with beneficiaries and provide a brief documentation of the story. The interviews will require field visits with firms, wage workers, self-employed workers, donors, and experts across Jordan.
  • Document and archive the interviews with photos, text, audio, video (when required), and ensure consent forms are collected to build a comprehensive library of written and visual content that represents project beneficiaries.
  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers to oversee visual content production (photography, videos, graphic design). ILO is responsible for contracting suppliers to carry out the production.
  • Regularly update and maintain the contact list and database of beneficiaries.

Communication and visibility

  • Support the project communication and visibility plans through the production of press-releases/articles/news about the project events and activities.
  • Support the implement the process to translate, write and proofread all communications, media, and multimedia products.
  • Produce social media posts for each product.
  • Regularly update and maintain media tracker for published stories on the project.
  • Assist in identifying and coordinating firms and workers to organize and host donor and expert visits to project beneficiaries.
  • Identify impactful quotes, photos, videos, and pieces of information to use them to create the content that will be used for social media and engagement with the public.
