Presentation of Nitidæ

Nitidæ is a French association so the main objective is to design, develop and carry out projects which combine the preservation of the environment and the strengthening of local economies in rural territories of Southern countries, with initiatives focused on the preservation of forests and ecosystems (reduction of deforestation), strengthening agricultural value chains and improving the energy efficiency of transformation processes. Nitidæ also provides technical expertise to agri-food and cosmetics companies wishing to improve the performance of agricultural value chains, mitigate their impact on the environment and stimulate local economic development in conjunction with producer organizations.

Nitidæ is currently leading around thirty projects, mainly in Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Ivory Coast and Senegal. Its team is made up of more than 175 employees (economists, engineers, agronomists, foresters, geographers, soil carbon specialists, GIS and remote sensing experts) spread between the countries of intervention and the headquarters in France.

In 2023, the association’s budget was 7.3 million Euros and continues an increasing trajectory.

Presentation of administrative and financial services

The administrative and financial management of the association is ensured on the ground by local teams in each of the association’s representations (6 administrative and financial managers, and 7 accounting assistants) and at headquarters by a team of 4 people.

The association is also supported by an accounting firm for the social aspect (editing of pay slips and DSN) as well as the editing of annual accounts.

Mission of the position

The Program Financial Management Control Officer is responsible for the good administrative and financial management of the programs under his or her charge. He/she also ensures the operationality and evolution of the structuring of administrative and financial services as well as the associated tools to guarantee compliance with donor rules in the use of funds entrusted to the programs.

Job position

Under the hierarchical responsibility of the Administrative and Financial Co-Directors of the association, you will work in collaboration with Nitidæ employees at headquarters as well as country representatives, project managers and administrative and financial managers of the association’s representations abroad. .

The position involves regular travel to the country of intervention.


  • Guarantee the quality of accounting and compliance with the accounting cycle when processing field accounts transmitted to headquarters
  • Check monthly the accounts of all missions and their integration into the headquarters software
  • Check and comment on the financial reports of local partners.
  • Ensure budgetary management, anticipate and issue recommendations to facilitate decisions
  • Ensure the financial and administrative management of contracts (proposals, reports, amendment request, payment request, contract closure, audit)
  • Control the needs and cash flow on the mission in conjunction with the field and the Head of the financial department
  • Actively participate in the internal audit work of the mission as well as in the implementation and updating of internal procedures, good practices and management tools
  • Ensure the recruitment and training of financial staff in financial management and accounting procedures
  • Participate in the development of management tools and procedures and the capitalization of experiences
  • Carry out other tasks possibly not listed here and falling within their competence.

Profile of the desired candidate

– Motivation for Nitidæ’s goals

– Training: Bac + 2 in accounting / management or humanitarian training (Bioforce type, School 3A)

– Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office pack (mainly Word and Excel)

– Languages: French and English (Portuguese is a plus).

– Knowledge of the NGO sector and international public development assistance is a highly appreciated asset

– Desired qualities: honesty and integrity, organizational skills, rigor, interpersonal skills, autonomy, adaptability and ability to work in an intercultural context, ability to work remotely, ability to propose methods and procedures for continuous improvement in the work.
